Reflect:
We continue to hear today through St. James to not only persevere through difficult times but also to persevere to strengthen our guard against temptation. Our desires can get the best of us. St. James is pretty blunt about this, when we fall to our temptations, we sin and sin brings about death. We need to pray constantly to be consumed by grace to remain vigilant against our sinfulness.

Today, would have been Florence Nightingale's 188th birthday. So, hug a nurse! (If you know one...don't hug a stranger, that's creepy). At the very least, pray for nurses and all who serve in healthcare.

Do you doubt that prayer works? Check this out - St. Genevieve once asked the people of her town to pray and fast (rather than flee) when Atilla the Hun was coming to attack! When the prayer began, amazingly, he changed courses and never came near her city!

For all of our American visitors, don't forget that this Sunday is Mother's Day. If you don't have any ideas for your mom, flowers are always good. If you don't have enough money to buy flowers, pray a rosary for her. She'll love it!
